Research
Our participation on national and international research projects enables us to continually guarantee the state-of-the-art of software technology. Together with leading research institutions we develop trend-setting solutions for various branches.
Highlight projects are currently:
EU Research Framework Program - DebugIT
The DebugIT project is a part of the seventh EU Research Framework Program. The main goal of the project is to create IT applications which yield significant improvements in the observance and control of infectious diseases, as well as antimicrobial resistance in Europe.
This is realized through the creation of a technical and semantic infrastructure which enables the linking and distributed utilization of clinical data from different clinics in different countries. This infrastructure analyzes large amounts of clinical data by means of sophisticated text and data mining methods in order to apply the acquired knowledge for clinical decisions.

BMWi - THESEUS
THESEUS is a research program initiatid by the Federal Ministry for Economics and Technology (Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Technologie, BMWi). Its aim it is to develop a new internet-based knowledge infrastructure for the purpose of better use and exploitation of knowledge in the Internet.
Under the umbrella of THESUS, 30 research partners from the science and economic sectors developed new technologies aiming at simplifying access to information, linking data with new knowledge, and laying the base for the development of new services on the Internet.
Within the framework of the THESEUS program, Averbis is responsible for the development of novel search and text mining technologies for improved medical-radiological diagnosis and therapies. Our cooperation partners are the radiology departments at the Freiburg University Hospital and the clinic and polyclinic for diagnostic and interventional radiology at the Leipzig University Hospital.
