Despite increasing networking, the exchange and common use of information in the health sector remain problematic. As opposed to the many other branches, clinical data is not structured uniformly, is available in various formats and does not incorporate any automatic indexing. Diagnoses or medical records received must thus often be re-entered into the Clinical Information System (CIS) manually.

Automatic analysis of clinical data renders invaluable services here. Not only does it offer higher efficiency in the exchange of data, but also higher patient safety. All emergency data such as blood group, earlier illnesses or allergies are available immediately. Medical classifications such as ICD10, OPS, SNOMED, Radlex, LOINC or MeSH are taken into consideration for the standardization of clinical data.

Re-use of data spares budgets

Improved data exchange also optimizes the secondary use of information, thus enabling a faster recognition of side effects or intolerance of medications, as well as the typical course of diseases by means of automatic institutional and inter-lingual evaluations. The prevention of costly clinical studies not only saves money, but also reduces above all possible health hazards for patients.
